Failing crops dominate the South Texas landscape which is usually covered with lush green fields of corn, sorghum and hay fields. This withering corn field near Victoria, Texas will soon be shredded and plowed under or bailed for hay. President Clinton declared all 234 counties in the state of Texas a federal disaster area due to the drought affecting the entire southern portion of the United States. |
